Frequently Asked Questions
Lots of people have questions about what I do, why I do it and how. I'll try to answers them as best I can here.
Are these models made from kits?
No. The models are certainly not made of kits. Each model is made from wood scraps and I am lucky enough to have friends who work with wood and supply me with off-cuts such as Mahogany and Walnut.
Do you make your own wheels?
Yes and No. For some of my earlier models I used some pre-cut wheels available from craft stores, but these days I make my own wheels. I plan to add some pictures showing the steps and techniques involved in making these.
Where do you get your ideas from?
Various Places. Many of the models come from plans available through catalogs, either as designed or I like to make some modifications in places. See the Links section for some of the catalogs I use.
Are the models motorized?
No, the skid loader animation on the home page was made by taking a series of still shots and linking them together into a movie. The models don't move themselves...yet!
